APWA Community Development Project: Hazara Colony Center
Hazara Colony is located in District South in Karachi. The population serviced by APWA center is approximately 20,000. It is an urban slum with all the basic amenities.The adjoining areas are railway colony, Jamhuria Colony and Chanesar Village etc. Majority of the residents are immigrants from NWFP and Punjab. Two registered CBOs are working in the community other than APWA.
The center provides the following services:
- Family planning, Reproductive health and Immunization.
- Skill and craft classes.
- Beautician classes.
The project was concluded in the year 2008.
