ABDUL-SATTAR-EDHIThe teachers of the schools of the All Pakistan Women’s Association (APWA) held Quran Khawani for the Issal-e-Sawab for Abdul Sattar Edhi in all its School.

The National Executive of the All Pakistan Women’s Association expressed its profound condolences on the sad passing away of Abdul Sattar Edhi.
A living legend whose unconditional support of the lesser and deprived of society gave him immortality.  He through his humanity, kindness gave countless solace.  We join his family and his extended family and people of Pakistan in this great loss of a legendary man of humanity.

Mazar-e-Quaid Visit

12-Feb-2016: On the occasion of 111th birthday President of APWA, Mrs. Meherafroze Habib, Mrs. Masudah Ahmad, Mrs. Sajida Soomro, Mrs. Badat, Mrs. Nasreen Riaz, Ms. Farzana Rehman, Dr. Tanvir, Mrs. Kiran Adil and Mrs. Rashida Shabir along with other executive members placed wreaths and recited fateh on Begum Ra’ana Liaquat Ali Khan’s Mazar.

12-Feb-2016: Since its inception, APWA has taken charge of opening and operating several schools to educate students in rural and low income areas. On Wednesday 12th February 2016, President APWA Mrs. Mehafroze Habib, along with APWA Education Chairperson Mrs. Nadira Panjwani, General Secretary Mrs. Aasma Zaidi, Coordinator Sindh Mrs. Sajida Soomro, COO Mrs. Momina Nasreen Hussain, Education Project Incharge Ms. Rozina Khuwaja and other respected donors inaugurated APWA School at B1 Area Liaquatabad and APWA School at Korangi #2.5. Sweets, juices and gifts were distributed among the students.

APWA Orangi Town School #10, Sports day

12-Feb-2016: Orangi Town # 10 School organized Sports Day on 12th February, 2016. The Sports Activities begun with the Musical Chair and Fruit Race, in which little children from Nursery and Kindergarten students participated. Then former sports events including Simple marathon Sac race, Balloons blow race, 3-legged race and Lemon spoon race were held. Tug of war contest was held among the teams followed by Pot race and skipping rope. Teachers also actively participated in musical chair and tug of war. At the end of the program trophies and medals were distributed to the winners and runners up by APWA Education Project Incharge.

APWA Health BMD

08-Feb-2016: All Pakistan Women Association (APWA) celebrated its Foundation Week. Different activities were carried out at its educational institutes and health facilities.
A bone density screening program was held at APWA MEDICAL CENTER at North Nazimabad on Monday 8th February 2016 in collaboration with HQ Pharma. Women took a lot of interest in this activity. Numerous women were screened, about 70% of the women were suffering from decreased mineralization of bone. Awareness about healthy life style and food was provided. Women were informed about food enriched calcium and vitamin D. Exposure in sunlight was also advised.
Calcium supplement along with vitamin D were prescribed at end of the program
